WATERSHED CLEAN-UP DAY
Physical Plant in cooperation with the Clearwater Conservancy is leading a clean-up effort to remove litter from Penn State watershed property. Help celebrate Earth Day Weekend by giving a few hours back to Mother Nature and have some fun in the process.
VOLUNTEERS WILL MEET AT THE POLLOCK RD. ENTRANCE OF THE HUB AT 9 A.M. ON Saturday, APRIL 19, 2008, AND CLEAN THE PSU WATERSHED AREA BETWEEN THE SUNSET PARK BIKE PATH AND THE T.G.I. Friday's RESTAURANT ON N.ATHERTON STREET.
GLOVES, BAGS, WATER, AND SAFETY GEAR WILL BE PROVIDED. PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY. Please bring a vehicle if possible to help ferry volunteers to the work
site. The cleanup will be followed by a picnic for volunteers at the
Millbrook Marsh Nature Center.
Over the last 11 years, Watershed Cleanup Day volunteers have removed almost 1,400 tons of trash, with more than 1,100 of those tons removed in the last three years. In 2007, the event attracted over 250 volunteers. Come out and join us for some fun in the mud.
