23 residents attended the Earth Week Workshop on Sunday April 20, 2008. We watched "An Inconvenient Truth" and brainstormed ideas for the challenge
- Most of the residents will be participating in the trayless operation at Dobbins this week
- All pledged to use "commuter" mugs that can be re-filled at any of the coffee shop location
- Each will be decreasing their consumption of water by taking shorter showers and turning the water off while brushing their teeth
- Each will be recycling all bottles they use this week (including glass and plastic)
- They will re-use plastic ware when possible
- They are not going to buy disposable plates and bowls, rather they are going to use those that are left over from RA programs in the halls
- each night when quiet hours begin (10 pm mon-thurs; midnight fri, sat) they will turn the lights off in the hallways
- each resident pledged to turn their lights off in their rooms when they're not using them
- 6 of the residents reported unplugging their appliances while they're not in their rooms
- all 23 followed up that they are interested in learning more about the Greener Behrend Taskforce
